Jakarta, July 27, 2025 As a tangible manifestation of cross-sector collaboration in promoting national creative economic growth, Garuda Indonesia, PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI), and local IP creator Tahilalats have officially announced a strategic collaboration to introduce the “Sky Explorer” IP as part of Mitsubishi Motors' latest vehicle thematic campaign, Destinator, through the campaign theme #UncoverYourNextDestination, which will run until the end of 2025.

This collaboration represents a significant milestone in the utilization of local intellectual property, particularly visual IP, which has been strategically integrated into cross-industry platforms, including the automotive, air transportation, and digital creative content sectors.

Through this collaboration, the "Sky Explorer" character from Tahilalats will appear in various visual elements of the Mitsubishi Motors campaign. These elements will be featured in the flight experience with Garuda Indonesia, including headrest covers, boarding pass sleeves, luggage tags, and special paper cups. The character will also be featured in the ground experience at the Mitsubishi Motors booth at the 2025 GIIAS event at ICE BSD.

President & CEO of Garuda Indonesia, Wamildan Tsani said, “As the national flag carrier, we believe that cross-industry collaboration is an important strategy for promoting local intellectual property to a wider audience. Through these collaborations, we offer a unique flying experience and play an active role in introducing local IP to the global brand ecosystem. It's a tangible way for Garuda Indonesia to contribute to the integration of creative economic values into the service industry.”

Furthermore, Wamildan emphasized that this initiative demonstrates a model for future partnerships, in which national distribution platforms (such as airlines), global brands (such as Mitsubishi Motors), and local creators (such as Tahilalats) can strengthen each other to build an inclusive and productive ecosystem for local IP.

President Director of MMKSI, Atsushi Kurita said, "Through the Sky Explorer campaign, we want to expand the meaning of a journey — not just mobility, but also an enjoyable and memorable experience." The Mitsubishi Destinator is here to meet the needs of modern Indonesian families who want a tough, comfortable, and reliable vehicle to confidently explore every destination. We believe that this collaboration holds great potential, as Mitsubishi Motors and Garuda Indonesia share similarities in consumer profiles, particularly in terms of lifestyle, aspirations, and youthful spirit. This is further strengthened by the integration of Tahilalats, who has a proven track record of articulating our brand message in an attractive, innovative, and relevant way to the current generation. We believe that cross-industry collaborations of this nature will provide significant added value, both emotionally and functionally, to all our consumers.

CEO of Mindblowon Studio, Rakhman Azhari said, "For us, this collaboration is about more than bringing three brands together. It's a wide-open playground for exploring ideas and narratives. Each of us has an emotional connection with our audience, and when we combine our efforts, the potential for storytelling becomes much deeper. Many Tahilalats readers have flown with Garuda or used Mitsubishi, so this collaboration feels personal to them. We are trusted to experiment, and that’s the strength of this collaboration—there’s creative freedom and a shared passion for creating enjoyable experiences at every step toward a new destination.”

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar said, "This step is a concrete representation of the potential of local IP when empowered through collaboration between industry ecosystems. We believe that innovation, storytelling, and visual experiences across platforms are key to advancing Indonesia's creative economy in a sustainable manner."

This collaboration is presented not only through visual campaign elements but also in the form of additional services, such as a complimentary shuttle service from Soekarno-Hatta Airport to GIIAS 2025 using Mitsubishi vehicles, as well as a loyalty program for Garuda Indonesia passengers with the grand prize of a Mitsubishi Destinator vehicle.

"We hope that this collaboration will lead to a new era of more similar strategic partnerships in the future, making local IP a powerful narrative in people's experiences with cross-sector products and services," Wamildan concluded.
