Tangerang, 8 Januari 2020 –The national airline Garuda Indonesia ensures that air ways for its Europe flights do not pass through Iranian airspace and surrounding areas after a flight ban issued by the United States Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) due to tensions that are occurring in the region.
Acting Director of Operations Garuda Indonesia, Tumpal M. Hutapea said "Garuda Indonesia diverted its Europe routes from Bucharest airspace to Egypt and Greece airspace. Thus all Garuda Indonesia operational to Europe will continue as normal ".
Tumpal added, “We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust routes accordingly. We will also coordinate with all the stakeholders in ensuring the safety and security aspects of Garuda Indonesia's operational are maintained and implemented".
