Jakarta, June 12, 2025 — Garuda Indonesia has established coordination with the Indonesian National Police to support a thorough investigation by the authorities. This follows up on the investigation into the report of a lost mobile phone by one of the passengers on flight GA-716 from Jakarta to Melbourne on June 6, 2025.
This initiative was taken to provide legal certainty for all concerned parties. This step also demonstrates Garuda Indonesia's commitment to ensure that this report is handled objectively, transparently, and based on data that can be legally accounted for.
We also emphasize that Garuda Indonesia continues to discharge from the flying duties for the cabin crew who duty on the flight. We also continue to maintain intensive communication with the passengers concerned.
For this reason, we invite all parties to respect the ongoing legal process, to seek the best settlement for all stakeholders, and to avoid confusing information in the public sphere.
Through these various measures, Garuda Indonesia is committed to upholding the safety, security, and comfort of all passengers on our flights.
