PREPAID BAGGAGE

Feel like bringing more goods? Don't worry. With our prepaid baggage, you can save more if you purchase an extra baggage in advance. You can purchase prepaid baggage via Garuda Indonesia Ticketing Office and Garuda Indonesia website and mobile app. The prepaid baggage can be purchased up to 6 hours prior to the check-in time.

For pre-purchase via Garuda Indonesia mobile app, prepaid baggage should be purchased at the time of booking your flight ticket.

Terms and conditions:

  • The acceptance of baggage upon check-in is determined by the baggage rules issued by Garuda Indonesia
  • There are 8 (eight) packages of prepaid baggage you can choose from:
    5 kg ; 10 kg ; 15 kg ; 20 kg ; 25 kg ; 30 kg ; 35 kg ; 40 kg.
  • Economy Comfort (Y Class) and Business Class (J Class) passengers are eligible for a 50% discount on the regular price with a minimum purchase of 15 kg. This discount is valid for a one-time issuance per passenger and does not apply cumulatively.
  • One passenger is allowed to purchase more than one package per sector
  • Valid for domestic and international ticket of Garuda Indonesia
  • Not valid for interline flight (codeshare) with other airlines
  • The difference between purchased Prepaid Baggage and Actual Checked Baggage on Board is not refundable.


Changes and Refund For Prepaid Baggage

  • 25% penalty from basic fare of Prepaid Baggage rate shall be implied for refund; except for reroute and reissue.
  • Refund shall not be applied for partly weight used of EMD Prepaid Baggage.
  • Refund for unused Prepaid Baggage’s EMD shall be submitted at the latest 6 (six) hours from the date of cancelled departure. The difference between purchased Prepaid Baggage and Actual Checked Baggage on Board is not refundable.
  • In case of reroute :
    • If the new Prepaid Baggage rate is lower than original rate, no residual value shall be refunded.
    • If the new Prepaid Baggage rate is higher than original rate, additional charge shall apply.
  • Full refund will be applied for unused EMD due to some of the following circumstances caused by Airline, such as :
    • Flight cancelation
    • Flight schedule change
    • Failed on re-accommodating
    • Over or under carriage
    • Offloading
    • Misconnection
    • Safety or legal reason
    • Force majeure
  • Refund of EMD Prepaid Baggage can be processed at the GA Airport Ticketing Office, City Ticketing Office, or submit by email to e-booking@garuda-indonesia.com (according to point of sales).
  • For EMD issuance where the ticket was issued at the Travel Agent (other than Garuda Indonesia Ticketing Office), documents shall be refunded at :
    • Passenger’s ticket shall be refunded at original issuing office
    • EMD Prepaid Baggage shall be refunded at Garuda Indonesia Ticketing Office
